It’s a time of celebration and All Island hopes to aid teens into a prosperous future. Winthrop Hospital Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine, Barry Rosenthal MD, All Island Transportation Vice President, Larry Blessinger, Chief of Patrol, Frank Kirby, Acting Nassau County District Attorney, Madeline Singas and Chief of the Nassau County District Attorney’s Vehicular Crimes Bureau, Maureen McCormick have joined together to ensure the safety of teens during the 2015 prom season. Memorial Day represents a time where the nation comes together to honor those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Thanks to them, we have the opportunity to make the most of life. So, make sure you set aside a little time to honor our soldiers. Bring along some friends or take the family out for some great patriotic Memorial Day events. Long Island Memorial Day Events Navy and Marine Aircraft Landing at Eisenhower Park Watch two demonstrations of the U.S. Navy and Marine Core’s aircrafts landing to drop off teams for specific missions. The Navy will be landing the MH-60S helicopter and deploying members of the Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team as another MH-60S hovers over for protection. Following the demonstration the helicopters will be on display. Then stick around for the U.S. Marine demonstration and landing, which includes the MV-22 Osprey, CH-46 Sea Knight and AH-1W Cobra. As the Marines deploy, you’ll be able to see what it takes for Marines to complete an assault mission. After that, check out the aircrafts and weapons used on the battlefield. Long Island Festivals Rockville Centre Spring Festival On May 30 and 31, Rockville Centre is hosting their Spring Festival. Come by the municipal parking lot on Sunrise Highway and Long Beach Road for some fun! The festival is hosted by Showtiques Crafts, Inc., who host over 40 events all over Long Island each year.
